Welcome to UniSpendz. By creating an account or using this application, you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). Please read them carefully.

1. Description of Service

UniSpendz is a personal financial planning and tracking tool designed for college students. It helps you plan semester costs, track funding sources, record transactions, reconcile accounts, and manage your monthly spending. The Service is provided for informational and organizational purposes only and does not constitute financial advice.

2. Account Registration

You must provide a valid email address and create a password to use UniSpendz. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You must be at least 13 years of age to use this Service.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree to use UniSpendz only for lawful purposes. You may not: (a) attempt to gain unauthorized access to other accounts or systems; (b) introduce malicious code; (c) use automated means to scrape or extract data from the Service; (d) impersonate another person.

4. Your Data

You retain ownership of the financial data you enter into UniSpendz. We store your data securely to provide the Service. You may export or delete your data at any time through the Settings panel. See our Privacy Policy for details on how we handle your information.

Receipt scanning & document import. UniSpendz offers optional convenience features that use automated character recognition and machine-learning extraction to read receipts you photograph and student-account or bursar statements you upload. This automated extraction is provided on a best-effort basis and may be inaccurate or incomplete — amounts, dates, merchants, categories, and charge/credit classifications may be misread. For this reason, every extracted entry is presented to you for mandatory review and editing, and nothing is saved to your records until you explicitly confirm it. You are solely responsible for verifying the accuracy of any imported entries before saving. Raw uploaded files are processed transiently and are not retained after extraction; see the Privacy Policy for details.

5. No Financial Advice

UniSpendz is a budgeting tool, not a financial advisor. The calculations, projections, and suggestions provided are based solely on the data you enter. We do not guarantee accuracy of financial projections. For professional financial advice, consult a qualified financial advisor.

Forecasts and runway projections are estimates. Features such as the Semester Runway, burn-rate status indicators, Safe-to-Spend figures, and any predicted depletion dates are forward-looking estimates generated from your self-reported data and simple assumptions about your spending pace. Actual outcomes will vary. These projections are not guarantees and should not be relied upon as the sole basis for any financial decision.

Military and veteran education benefits — informational only. Any references in UniSpendz to GI Bill® chapters (including Post-9/11 Chapter 33, Montgomery Chapters 30 and 1606), Monthly Housing Allowance (MHA), book stipends, benefit timing, or payment delays are provided for general informational and planning purposes only. They are not financial, benefits, or legal advice, are not endorsed by or affiliated with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs or any government agency, and may not reflect your actual entitlement or current rates. Always confirm your benefits directly with the VA and your school’s certifying official before making decisions.

6. Service Availability

We strive to maintain the Service but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the Service at any time. We will provide reasonable notice when possible.

7. Limitation of Liability

UniSpendz is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to financial losses resulting from decisions made based on information displayed in the app.

8. Termination

You may terminate your account at any time by using the Reset All Data feature or by contacting us. We may terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

9. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
